INSIDE THE BREAKING
Tina Marsh

"Marsh's interpretive powers make this set shine… she is a haunting presence on the standards, sings the arias with drama, and brings chilly passion to Ornette Coleman's 'Lonely Woman' and warmth to Leonard Cohen's 'Anthem.' (Marsh) proves again what a great vocal artist she is." CADENCE Magazine

FROM THE LINER NOTES

These are songs that I'm often requested to sing. They are gorgeous melodies and stories in and of themselves, so our approach is purposefully spare - giving them lots of space to breathe. This collection has a long, slow arc through an unlikely combination of songs. There is a wistful sadness underscored by the elegant simplicity of Eddy's arrangements and piano as well as Terry's cello. In this collection, the first in a series, we give you a morsel of lingering bitter sweetness from where we sometimes find ourselves - here in the breaking at the brink of hope. - TM
