'The circle is continuous, with no beginning or end. It symbolizes here a sense of renewal, a constant rebirth of hope, faith, and love.' 'The light symbolizes our most enlightened ideals and spirit, whether arising in a single person, culture, or all of humanity.' As respect for other cultures gives way to understanding, we see more clearly the similitude of our hearts. Toward this end we wish to present the Circle of Light, our attempt to unite these symbols as a peace offering. To everyone. Holidays and Music! Music plays an important part in all of the world's celebrations, and our little worldly cyber-celebration is no different. You can learn a little something about various winter holidays from around the globe while you groove to the sounds that are at the heart of the festivities. Our celebrations and holidays often act as annual renewals and reminders of all that is inherently good in humanity. Recurrent themes - of light over darkness, of strong familial ties, of splendid festivities, of the joys of childhood - are found in many of the major holidays of the world. Certainly in the holidays seen and heard on this site. Circle of Light hopes to highlight the similarities that run through the core of these celebrations using the theme of light and music. |
